6/14/98: Our train arrived in Harare exactly on time, and we managed to sleep better on this leg of travel. We found a taxi driver who agreed on a reasonable price and headed to the TEAM guest house…
NOTE: Photo above is of Harare, by Tatenda Mapigoti on Unsplash. We did not take many photos during the next several days in Harare, so I will be posting related stock photos.
6/14/23: After we unloaded our luggage at the TEAM guest house and chatted over a cup of coffee with Melita, who happened to be in, we jumped in a truck and headed out to Mvurwi, north of Harare. Doug had other duties that day, so he arranged for me to have a vehicle to drive out there and photograph the dedication of a newly planted church. It was fun driving on the “wrong side of the road” (opposite to roads in the US, anyway), and the steering wheel was on the right-hand side of the truck.
Chaplain K. from Karanda was present, along with several others from the mission hospital. The service went on quite a while and was entirely in the Shona language. The church is made up of Shona people who work on a farm. The man who owns the farm is a strong Christian, so he built them this church building.
