6/26/98: Ruth went off to the hospital, and I headed over to the office to see if there was any work to do…
NOTE: The photo above is Ruth. Checking email. Some days were slower than others in terms of work to do.
6/26/23: The Kenyan AIM staff were publishing a magazine for Christians in the Great Rift Valley called In Africa Today. I went by to see if I could be of any assistance with my graphic design publishing experience. Mwaura, the managing editor, was cordial, and we set up a time to meet on Monday. I also stopped in at AIC Kijabe Hospital and tried to meet with Dr. B’s daughter, Susie, but she was also only available after the weekend. So, we set up an appointment to talk on Monday too.
I was struggling with the sense that things were not going well. Though it was a slow start to our work in Kijabe, we were still looking forward to getting to work. AIM was, and still is, a great organization that is run very well. I especially appreciated that, though the AIC Kijabe Hospital was founded by missionaries back in 1915, by the time of our visit it was run by local Kenyans and the African Inland Church.
