9/14/98: Wow! Today we are half way through our trip… We hunted for boxes, and then shipped a bunch of travel books and souvenirs home… We brought our well-packed and sealed boxes to the post office, and the clerk wrapped them all in canvas, took heavy thread and a large needle and snugly sewed it up around each box! Looks kind of cool, but I have no idea why this is done… We ate dinner up on the roof again… We invited a woman who was dining alone to join us… Patricia is a fashion designer from Belgium, and here in India on one of her regular trips to collect fabrics and to oversee the factories who execute her designs… A fun conversation…
NOTE: The photo above is the entrance of Lal Qila (“Red Fort”) in Delhi, yet another architectural marvel built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.
