11/23/98: Last morning to walk on the beach and play in the waves of Kantiang Bay… Sail fish and huge prawns for dinner… Packed up and checked out before bed so we could get up very early to start our journey on to our next assignment… Rested and ready for more work and adventure…

I’m glad for the people of Koh Lanta Island that there is so much more development, and I would recommend a visit to anyone, because it is beautiful and the people are so welcoming. But I am also glad that we had the privilege of getting to visit before the tourism boom hit. For Ruth it was like returning to the Maui of her youth. For both of us, it was therapeutic and restorative to have solitude, to slow down, reflect, pray and enjoy.
