The Power Of Prayer

Posted on August 5, 2023

8/5/98: The photography work documenting indigenous Christianity for Roger H. and his research kicked into a higher gear here… This morning we met with Caleb P., and picked his brain about Harvest Ministries, and the 15 itinerant evangelists/pastors that serve in the rural areas around Hyderabad… We also visited a prayer ministry and retreat center where I realized how much I have to learn on that subject. These folks pray up to 12 hours per day… Later we met Pastor Samuel who had stories of being confronted by a mob of violent Hindus who threatened him with death if he did not prove Christianity by raising the dead body they had brought along. He confessed that he himself did not have such power, but a voice heard by everyone present said “Pray!” So, he prayed, and the woman rose from the dead… Many stunned onlookers became Christians…

NOTE: Participants at this prayer ministry in Hyderabad pray for as much as 12 hours per day.

The founder of the prayer ministry we visited in Hyderabad, India, shared stories of his miraculous conversion to faith in Christ.
