Longing For A Hotter Fire In My Own Heart

Posted on August 14, 2023

8/14/98: Prayer meeting at a small Pentecostal church… I felt awkwardly intrusive, but the people were so fervent and focused that they were oblivious to the camera clicks and flashes… As I took photos, I was struck by how cold my own prayer life is, and longed for a hotter fire in my own heart…

NOTE: The photo above shows mother and son during a time of prayer at the Pentecostal church that we visited in Chennai, India.

The worshippers in this church were fervently in prayer.
A child on his knees in prayer following his father’s example.
The young child reached up to comfort his father as he cried out in prayer.
Once the prayer service was over the children became very curious.
