8/17/98: Ground breaking ceremony at the Church Growth Association of India… Jesus sent his Apostles out as missionaries to the world, and Thomas brought the Gospel to India… We visited the Roman Catholic church Santhome Cathedral (Saint Thomas Cathedral)… Had a deep discussion with Roger about the “myth of Hinduism” (it is not a single, unified religion, but a panoply of polytheism) and the fact that educated Hindus typically recognize and honor the positive impact of Christian missionaries, distinguishing them from the colonialists…
