A Harrowing Ride

Posted on August 25, 2023

8/25/98: Ruth spent the day looking over the hospital facilities, taking notes to prepare her epidemiology consult notes… I went out to rural village areas to take photos of the clinic sites run by the hospital… First part of the trip was in a tiny little Tata Sumo minivan… The second part of the trip was riding on the back of a Rajdoot motorcycle on narrow foot paths between flooded rice paddies… A harrowing ride and a bad sunburn…

NOTE: The photo above shows a proud village mother with her baby, and a group of curious children at one of the clinic sites.

Another group of curious children at one of the open-air clinic sites where Duncan Hospital doctors and nurses tend to non-emergent health care needs of villagers around Raxaul.
