9/1/98: Travel day, higher into the Himalayas… We lugged four back packs, two heavy packages of souvenirs, and a 2-foot long PVC pipe containing water color paintings 1.5 km (about 1 mile) to the bus station on our very own…. We’re becoming stout as dwarves from Middle Earth… The bus ride to Pokhara was splendid, and included breakfast at a riverside hotel… Did use a taxi to get to the International Nepal Fellowship (INF) guesthouse, and were welcomed heartily by Marcelle P. and put to right work photographing some staff members… Ruth thinks she is coming down with a stomach bug…
NOTE: The photo above shows the clever way a Kathmandu man carries an oversized and very heavy load. We picked up some good tips like this for our over-laden walk to the bus station.
