9/19/98: Explored Tsim Tsa Tsui and Kowloon this afternoon… The famed “Walled City” is no longer in existence though… Met up with Jonathan and Jodi at the YMCA and then took the Star Ferry across the bay to Hong Kong Island… Reminded me of many books and movies in which the Star Ferry played a part… Interestingly, it is the harbor that gives the city its name! “Hong Kong” (香港) means “fragrant harbor”… We took the tram up to Victoria Peak, and the view above the skyscrapers were spectacular…
