10/7/98: Arrived in Xi’an and were surrounded by a horde of taxi drivers hoping to take us to our hotel… Though we had chosen our hotel before we left Lanzhuo, the driver walked into the lobby with us and received a cash tip from the manager for convincing us to stay there… Weather was rather overcast and gloomy, but it looks like a nice city…
