10/10/98: A friend of ours told us to look up the Jiao Tong hotel when we arrived in Chengdu. He said it was the newest and cheapest place in town. We couldn’t find it in our Lonely Planet book, nor had any of the people we have met heard of it… So when we got off of the train we headed for a place called the Traffic Hotel, which is recommended in the LP guide. Turns out they are one and the same! Lucky for us…
NOTE: The photo above shows me in Chengdu walking past the farmer selling fresh vegetables like onions and bok choy. Ruth still has to chase me down to make me eat my veggies.
