11/2/98: Met with Peter in the office today to discuss the kinds of brochures that he wants me to design… I spent the rest of the day researching and brainstorming… In the evening, Ruth and I went downtown and walked around a bit… Lots of wats (Buddhist temples), and souvenir shops with teak furniture, silk and batik garments, gems and t-shirts, all with elephants as the main motif… We discovered that the three-day long Light Festival begins today…
NOTE: The photo above shows a meditation of monks watching the opening parade of the Light Festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I don’t know if that is really the proper collective noun for this group. But I like it.
