5/9/98: George and I packed up the bouzouki in a stiff cardboard box that he reinforced with aluminum rods. It should make it back to the US safely. We returned to Mary’s school to meet up with Ruth, Gerry, and Mary for more open house events. This was our last evening in Athens, so we took them out to dinner at our favorite restaurant in Athens. Too small a way to thank them for their great hospitality. The charming little pub had a plaque on the wall that read “Kali Sas Orexi!” It is the Greek version of “Bon Appetit,” or in literal English “Good Appetite!” George explained that it was a colloquial way of saying “Eat Up!”
