“An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered. An inconvenience is only an adventure wrongly considered.”
—G. K. Chesterton, All Things Considered, “On Running After One’s Hat”
“Further Adventures of” is a blog where I reflect on my adventures in Christian faith and theology, family and friends, pastoral ministry, discipleship and church community, books, movies, music, travel and myriad other interests.
While I am adventuring through inconveniences, I pray without ceasing, worship Jesus whole-heartedly, ask questions earnestly, read incessantly, laugh and cry honestly, enjoy music enthusiastically and travel widely. My mission is to love God and His Church, to know God and His Word, and to serve God and His world. As a pastor, my goal is to help others become fully mature in Christ and unified in Gospel-centered living: encouraged in fellowship, equipped in faith and engaged in mission. I currently live in Chicago with my wife, Ruth. We have two sons, Ian and Josiah.
Grace & Peace to you,
